My buddy said he used a small steam cleaner on his boat seats and it worked awesome. Anyone else ever try this method? Just wondering if it was a safe option.

Wow, you must have some pretty dirty vinyl!

Pesonally, I'd try some of Babe's products first to be safe. Check out the CCfan store.

Pete

I have already tried a multitude of cleaners. I have even tried the hotsy!!!! Not really. This is just a little hand held device. I had to go look at his and was amazed at the job it did. I think I will try it on a inconspicuous spot and report back.

We have one of those shark steam mops and it is pretty great on the floors. Would probably do well on vinyl if I had to guess.

Yes, whatever you use, use a brush to get down into those tiny pits. Just wiping with a towel just doesn't get it all.

totally awesome is really good at 100% with a brush...spray on, use brush vigorously, wipe off with clean towel.

if it won't do it not sure what will.
post some pics of this upholstery. 41 years old? maybe time for new skins?

These are bad for the clear coat of the vinyl. If the seats are shot anyway, these are OK. Otherwise, they are too abrasive.

The vinyl is in pretty good shape for the age. I do have to wonder though if they had clear coated vinyl in 1969.
