Correct Craft used the same 11A rudder on all Ski Nautiques from 1970 forward, though they added the tab about 10 years ago. It was also used on v-hulls like the Barefoot Nautique, Southwind, Freeport, etc. Finding a used one shouldnt be *too* difficult.

thank you ^ you said added the tab, would that infer that the newer tab style rudder could also be used?

Wow, I wouldnt have guessed that a http://www.n3boatworks.com/eshopprod_cat_5045-91703_product_874128.Rudder_wtrim_tab_.htm - $600 rudder would have been in your budget, otherwise I would have mentioned that!

If youre interested, I have a nice rudder from a '80 Ski Nautique available for for a few bucks more and it comes with an entire boat attached! Seriously though, if you are interested in a parts boat, Im just on the other side of Hartford. Shoot me an email: TRBenj@gmail.com

Not Quite!!
In 2003 with the new Ski Nautique the rudder changed somewhat. It is deeper/longer and has a bit larger square area. My preference would be to Find an original 11-A tabbed rudder late 90's thru 2002.
But the current rudder will work don't get me wrong, just a preference on my behalf.
Also not all 11-A rudders are alike some where designated for the SuperSport and they have a offset on the tiller arm boss/mounting point.

email sent!

Jody, fascinating about the rudder change in '03. Ive been under TSC2-3's a fair amount and have never noticed the difference... it must be pretty darn subtle. I didnt realize the 11A was ever used on any v-drive... I thought that those got larger rudders.

I have a 80 sn with a rudder that is currently not being used and would gladly remove it, gift wrap it and have santa(ups) deliver it right to your door for $125. Let me know if you're interested. Nate 317.590.2431

If that one does not work I have a rudder off of an 85 SN that will work as well.
Thanks Mike

Hey Guys,
I know this is an old chain, but...
Are either of those 11a rudders still available? Would either come with a port?
I need one for a 96 176 conversion.
Is the tabbed rudder a big improvement? Is it designed to adjust for tracking?

Thanks,
Don

That would be great. Is it in good shape? Does it come with the rudder port as well? Could you send me a picture or 2? Would paypal work for payment?

Thanks,
Don
