Hey CCF,

I cannot find the serial number on my 1999 GT40. Is my engine reverse rotation or standard rotation?

Thank you!

A GT-40 is standard rotation. You also likely have the PCM 1.23:1 transmission. A right-hand propeller with the "gear reduction" 1.23:1 PCM transmission = standard engine rotation.

This pic is from the 1999 owners manual from the reference section on this site. Note the firing order. For a " standard rotation " or left-hand engine, 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 is the firing order. For a "Reverse Rotation" or right-hand engine, 1-8-4-5-6-2-7-3 is the firing order.
