We have exhaust stain on our transom that is proving tough to clean. What is the go to method? Have painted graphics. I have tried soap and it didn’t cut it well. Acetone took it off but worried about using that too much. Goal is to get it clean and build up more wax for this season.

David,
What color was the stain? Black soot is pretty common. I sometimes get it and it comes off with a spray cleaner like Fantastic. |

Yes. It was black soot. Gone now. Used some turtle wax bug and tar no drip and it took it off. Then used some cleaner wax and then wax.
