I am assessing the condition of my engine mounts as I begin to align the prop shaft and motor. I noticed there is only a single bolt securing the engine to the bushing mount. When looking at newer engine mount options, I noticed a bolt stem with multiple fasteners for adjustment purposes. Am I missing the adjustment hardware or is this the way the 1956 Atom was set up?

John,
You're not missing anything on the mounts.

Thanks, what do you recommend as the best way for alignment with prop shaft.? When I have the wood wedges set in original holes and all mount bolts fastened, I am about .25 too high on the engine output plate.

John,
The wedges need to be moved and lag bolt holes elongated or new wedges made. I find it just as easy to make new wedges, align the engine and then drill clearance holes through the new wedges. Keep in mind you are looking for parallelism between the coupling faces. Also, how's the alignment between the strut and log. That needs to be good first.

Thanks and now that I know I have what I need, I'll start to work on the alignment process. Will keep you posted.
