Evidently in the for sale section there’s a 1997 Paragon for sale? Documented 1997. Thought they were only 93/94.

We've learned to never say never on here about what could have been done. If it is not flat out "Fake News" (i.e. confused owner, despite or because of the plaque) maybe it was a 93 NWZ that was paragon-ized in 97. It is my understanding that CC sent the paragons out to be "paragon-ized" (by an outfit in NY, maybe?). So maybe this was sent to that outfit in 97. Only problem I have with that is the color. Was it painted paragon colors in 97? Either way, it is a NWZ hull not a 97 hull so it is not a 97 boat, even if it was paragon-ized in 97.

Edit: Just went back and looked at the dedicated paragon brochure. Ends up they were all painted the green or red, not gelled in those colors. Who knew? So I guess it is possible it was paragonized, including paint in 97, but that still doesnt make it a 97.

It's a GT 40 with a cast intake so technically it has to be post 95. Maybe it was the final NWZ produced but it got a 1997 vin? They surely still had the NWZ hull molds while producing the 1997 model year boats.

Is it for sale?

Below the waterline was obvious paint, quite different than whatever the hull sides were. I bet the whole thing was gelled just then painted and wooded over.

Pics of the boat posted here sure would be nice!

Does it have the 90-93 deck or 94-96?

BOS has a few good pictures. Too hard to post link or pics here. 93 deck, 96+ motor box.

Could we make this any harder? I went to BOS and the link there takes you back to the Diaries here... LOL

Anyway, so yea some obvious 1997 components. Wouldn't shock me if somebody went to Correct Craft with enough money in 1997 and wanted to buy a Paragon. Why not?

The plaque is definitely interesting and per all I have ever heard they built 11 Paragons.
Likely why its a 97 is it took them 4 years to sell 11 special editions that cost more then twice the cost of a non Paragonized same boat, in today's money that could be 150k vs 75k.
Regardless it looks like a really nice boat with very low hours and the GT-40 certainly adds a cool factor.

But it was a chick magnet right? Do you regret selling? I remember you saying it wasn't practical for skiing but say if you had others to use would it be worth it to tie up that kind of money for a boat to cruise around in?

Having a '96 it seems to me to be the older deck. The obvious point that I saw was that the windscreen isn't split...like mine. The notch drop-down for the rear vent is another...mine doesn't drop down.
But my goodness they are lovely.
