Blue Navigation light?

My 82 SN has a blue starboard navigation light rather than green.

Is this how they came originally from CC?
Could the police/DNR hassle me about it not being green like every other boat?

my guess is it is either faded green or someone tried to modify it somehow?
blue is not a navigational light. and shouldn't be displayed in a nav light location.
decorative its ok to a point.

There are strict guidelines for NAV light display locations, and even brightnesses. so beware the cheap chinese knockoff lighting from ebay.
it isn't like a car though, where absolutely no blue is allowed. You Can have blue or all kind of colors, they habve to be solid and cannot be in a location where they can be confused with a wig wag or any type of flashing motion. in other words they can't be displayed in a manner that someone would think that you are marine patrol etc.
any marine patrol that hassles you has every right to if you display a blue and he "thinks" it appears to be flashing.
