Trolling Craigslist is a BAD thing these days. People are almost giving them away. I just could not let this one pass by. Motor was Re Built at some point. Still pulls nice but needs a lot of TLC and a new Prop ! We lake tested it in some very sketchy water near its home. For 1000 feet or so from shore you could clearly see the bottom of the pond. I don't know what it is with me and people painting the trailers with rollers but this makes 3 in the herd all painted very poorly.

Yes, I guess if I was thinking, which apparently I'm not, most of the BFNs were 454s.

Is that a common location for registration numbers?

Per the WDNR:

"•The registration number and expiration decals must be displayed as follows:
◦Numbers must be placed on each side of the forward half of the vessel.
◦Numbers must be read from left to right
◦Numbers must be at least 3” high BLOCK letters
◦Numbers should contrast with the color of the vessel and be clearly visible and legible. Two-toned and camouflage numbers are not legal and should not be used.
◦Letters must be separated from the numbers by a space at least 2” wide.
◦Decals must be affixed 3” behind (towards the stern) and in line with the number."

Tim,
Location is lower than normal but still meets the regs. The only problem I see is they aren't block letters. However, I've never heard of any problems with the script. In Fact, the other day I was over at a local marina and they had the registration # kits and all were the script style.

Glad you picked it up! I was looking at it myself. Owner sent me a bunch of pics! Nice boat!
Distance and interior were holding me up. I'm looking forward to hearing how well it runs!

Tim I agree they throw off the entire boat ! We passed a DNR guy on our way out who did not ask us about them so I guess they are Ok ? I will be moving them up to the top where I am used to seeing them. Boat runs very well but with the prop appears to have been attacked by some form of power tool ! We will most surely be replacing it before any kind of normal use as the vibration may end us up at the dentist ! Interior is rough at best but the floor and stringers are about as good as I have seen one one of its age. Not a soft spot to be felt and not one single crack on the stringer surface coating. Screws tightened ok and all looks well. Needs an Acid bath as there is stuff growing on the bottom below the waterline. We got it for a bunch less than asking which was already cheap so there is room left in the budget for repairs. We are planning on tearing down the Show Nautique this year as it needs stringers and a bunch of hull work so this will serve as the workhorse this summer.

Thanks !
Seller made a few comments while we were there that he would take just about anything someone offered him. Seemed almost like a season end sale...We offered and he jumped.

Here in NC, the numbers have to be just under the rub rail at the front. Starting in 2018, we have to have a sticker on each side.
