Hello, everyone I have a 66 Correct Craft Skylark with the Buick Oddfire V6, I am looking for the starter that engine. Any tips on where to find one or which one works would be appreciated. Also the carb is giving me some problems is there another carb that can bring up the reliability of the motor. Thanks in advance.

Since the V6 was never made in a reverse rotation, go for a automotive starter. In 66 there wasn't any difference between a marine and automotive anyway plus you won't confuse the guy behind the parts counter (even Autozone)!!! Before you become a "parts changer", what's wrong with the starter? Have you bench tested it? How are the brushes? The commutator? Do the bushings need lubrication?
Get a rebuild kit for the carb. |

Nick,
Anything on the starter yet? Keep us informed on what you do with it. If you can't perform any of the repairs yourself, an "auto electric" shop can fix it. |
