How rough does it idle? Depending on what you are experiencing it may be normal. These do not purr like a kitten at idle.

I would be willing to bet the oil sprayed into the cylinders burned off in the first 10 minutes of running

The idling is such that must work the throttle quickly when going in gear or it will stall out. It is not without the occasional backfire / sputter but is smooth like a top @3500 rpm

Carb rebuild and ignition tuneup time then!

49 on the GPS is as strong as any of them, next time wring it out like you mean it! See if you can get the last digit off the prop size, most likely a 12RH14 (12x14) but would be good to confirm. Reid may have an oj for you but the acme (1210) will most likely be the best performer.

Tim / Peter
I am sure the carb can use some help (rebuild) after sitting for a couple of years (doubt the PO drained / fogged). As far as fuel goes at this point I am running out of a 5 gallon can with 1/4" fuel line tied into the fuel pump.

As far as running it out I am trying not to blow it up.......need to do something better than a bucket for a seat as well.

What a great boat! Just a matter of time before you give the keys to the '05 to Kristin.

John B - me too

Donald,
Trying to. Think that I am going to see if I can pimp some tuning / carb rebuild help prof to White Lake or I may bring along some goodies and see if I can get some lessons from those in the know....

Greg, after watching your video far too many times it's clear that the performance of a H/M Mustang in completely stock trim is more than adequate for anything I want to do. That thing is a terror, and the sound! I can only imagine what yours will be like when properly tuned. I thought it would perform pretty well but I had no idea.

That's awesome. There was a point around 7:55, where I thought it was already at full throttle, then there was another level. Really cool.
