I was just rummaging through the parts section and to my surprise I found a lot of people parting out their boats?!!!
Am I just too attached to my boat...? I am having a hard time selling one of them! I can't stand the idea that I will be parting ways with my 88... I put so much work into that boat. I thought this was the place you came to learn how to fix boats from the gurus... That section if the forum is depressing for a correct craft owner :( |

If it were not for the boats being parted out others would not be around either. My Mustang for example has some very hard to find things from 4 other boats. It's just life,a simpler less important version of an organ donor I guess.

I guess you are right Gary. Just sad to see some boats that still have life in them be pulled apart

Unfortunately I just cut up the hull of my 87 ski nautique parts boat this weekend.
It was actually hard to do.. Not physically but mentally as I love boats and would do just about anything to save one especially a Nautique! However the assessment of the hull ended up being correct . The foam was totally saturated , the primary and secondary stringers were rotten mush and black ants had invaded every damp area! However, I did send parts to over a dozen members and helped them get their boats back on the water so that they and their family's could enjoy being on the water! And it helped me too! I came away with and original CC trailer for my Nautique! As much as a bummer it was to part it out, I was able to help a lot of people and make some more CCF friends along the way! John |
