Several guys have removed the muffler & installed a custom made Y-pipe in it's place. Search TRBenj's threads on the site for pictures.

Yep. Ditch the mufflers and replace w/stainless steel pipe!

89 is a great boat that has a lot of advantages over the previous 2001 models.

Standard rotation engine that sits low into the bilge with less angle.

1.23 trans gives a boost to hole shot and performance all round.

The single exhaust is seen by some as a disadvantage but if you spend long hours in the boat sking etc. a loud exhaust gets old latter in the day. If you are just cruising for a short amount of time it might be seen as a con.
If you're going through hell, keep going
