Anyone familiar with this Southwind? Was in okaboji a week ago and this boat was sitting amongst a few other older boats at kluckers chicken. I was told it used to be a bar but neighborhood ordinances had other ideas. Anyway it seemed to be in great shape. Chrysler powered as well!

I've seen it a few times while we were up there visiting. It's a shame to let it sit there and collect dust.

Chris. I was thinking you could be the "boat rescuer" for this one. Not real far for ya. Bring a trailer though as it is just sitting on the cradle.

Looks identical to a Southwind 20 closed bow that used to be on Delavan Lake in Wisconsin. Its not there this year. Wonder if that could be it? Was there a boat name painted on the back? The one in Wisc. had a name on the back, but, can't remember what it was.

Sounds like Chris has seen before in IA, so probably not it.

Is the boat for sale?

I swear I just heard the distant voice of a southwind calling..David g....Davidg.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

You have to admit, the Southwinds are sexy beasts! Love those classic lines, and ability to handle rough water. This one in Iowa looks really clean. Would love to have a SW 20.

Maybe when I win the lottery, I will buy both a SW AND a Ski Nautique to sit in front of my mansion on Lake Geneva. That wake is harsh behind the SW. Need the SN for the early morning runs. But, by noon when the white caps are 2' tall, I will bring out the SW.

Yikes, One Heckuva tall bowrail on that beauty, eh?

My 18 has the original split bowrail for the walk off teak bow. My bro's 20 does not have a teak walk and so has no split rail. Seems like there has been a whole lot of SW rail modifications over the years....

If that one's up for grabs somebody ought go get it!!

It does not appear to be for sale....I looked at while waiting for chicken and was curious if anyone knew the story behind the boat.
