I have a 1968 Mustang that I am looking for a 18 Gal tank as well.. Mine went to be refurbished but I am expecting a phone call saying they cannot repair it.

Wondering if we have the same tank?

Regards,

Gregman

I have the fuel tank you guys need, $5 + s/h and it's yours.

Let me know if you guys are interested.

Search for my posts in the for sale section you'll see it in there.

It's going to the scrap yard next month.

If it doesn't leak I will take it off your hands.

Restoring a tank is a pretty easy process as long as it's done correctly. The recent one I did was for a 1917 I'm restoring. Radiator shops used to be the go to place since they have the hot tank for getting all the crud out. The 1917 I did myself with a kit. Plenty of my friends with antique or classic boats do the same with fantastic results. The new kits are even made for alcohol fuels.

David,
Whats wrong with yours or has it been tossed out?

Mine has a really bad rust out in the bottom. The radiator shop wanted $622 to fix the holes and coat the inside with epoxy. I think I will try and restore Turningpoint84's if that's cost effective for me. Do you remember the kit you used?

I just took the 1969 Correct Craft to my Brother-in-Law in Sheffield Alabama. He may still want the tank though. Do you have the measurements? I will pass along the information.

Thanks!

A friend used to run a radiator shop. He used Red Kote to line gas tanks.   I used to get it at O'Reilly's Auto.

There was another recent Mustang Thread ( 68-69) and it was stated that ReidP ( Race City Marine in Mooresville, NC) is having new reproductions tanks made by the original maker of the tank ( Muller?). He is paying for the tooling so he will be the outlet for the tanks. Matt S. is his partner and Matt is at RCM on a daily basis. Reid has another career.

I hope this helps,

Donald
