    Posted: December-29-2007 at 2:02am
I was looking around for some neoprene to go back onto the swim platform on my 91 Sport Naut.
I just got the boat and the original mat is not on it.   Whats the best thing to replace it with ?

I thought about finding some of that speckle colored play ground rubber and glueing that down to the platform ?
Anybody know the best place to get the neoprene ?

Check out Hydroturf. Its primarily sold in kits to replace all the traction pads in the footwells of PWC's. I replaced all the traction pads in my boat with the stuff, and am very happy with the result. Its easy to cut and sandable, so you can get the exact shape you want.

TRB,   Thanks my friend, thats exactly what i've been looking for.

I was almost about to buy some wet suit material that had some cool looking designs but it didn't look like it would hold up nearly as good as the hydro turf stuff.

Thanks,
Phillip

Thanks!

I put this stuff on my boat two years ago. It's a little pricy but has held up great and we love it!!

I"m not sure why that link won't work. You can copy and paste it in the browser and it works.

Ross,
Maybe you spilled some of that Amsoil on the deck and it contaminated the bond?    Seriously, what did you use for bonding? Did you follow the directions? Did you use the recommended adhesive? Were did the bond fail? On the deck or on the Hydroturf and Gatorstep. Both failed? I'm trying to figure out why you are the only one who's negative. Tell us more please and pictures would be fantastic.

Sounds like user malfunction.

My hydro turf looked great when I sold the boat 12+ years later,

We all don't live in frozen tundra most of the year, It may be a different case of density altitude of the swamp rat.
