No, he won't need a trailer like that. I heard that once he found out the jet ski will pull his tube, he decided to sell his boat, that he didn't need it any more.

Larry, he definitely needs the trailer for his new G25 he'll be running on his lake. Maddie has taken up an interest in surfing.

Its twin right here on the site.

Different color interiors and exteriors.... but they both are blue. One is an Excel package - teak and split window, the other is a Barefoot package - no teak and solid window. Montana boat is average hrs, The Texas boat is curiously low.

They look very different to me.... but hey, I'm all about the Excels.

Never occurred to me before, but looks like there's no way to mount a fly high on one of these early '90's v-drive BFN's. So if you want a high tow point, it's tower or nothing, Or is there a way to mount one?

Could you not use the fly high mount that the older nautiques use that has the ring and finger? just clamp it to the pylon and use a really long cable?

The Excel variation is the Monkey Bar - U-shaped extension - gunnel to gunnel. Like on my BFN.... that's what those large cleats are on my gunnel. It keeps the look clean when not using Monkey Bar.

So Steve,

What is the plan? Go to Montana first and then swing down to Texas or do the opposite? How are you doing to drag two boats behind the camper? I guess you can push one with the front hitch, but that will require some skill to get all the way back home like that.

I think this boat used to sit in the driveway of a house 5 doors down from my house. Sorry to see that it's being parted out. Those large head lights match the ones on the boat that was in my neighborhood. I wonder what the story is.

Tim,
There was a period of time when the lights were very popular especially with the wooden boat group. The brand Iva light was the one to have and still is. Like you, I don't know why there are two on this boat. Maybe the owner was blind and paranoid! Personally, out on the lake, I find it easier to see in the dark once your eyes adjust. Many including myself have used the black electric tape trick to block off the forward 180 section of the aft all around nav light for that very reason.

Here's a direct link to the craigslist ad.

Welcome to posting on the site. Are you presently a boat owner? A CC? Hopefully yes or about to become one.

Blocking the aft 360 degree white light will get you a citation if it doesn't cause the death or serious injury due to non confirming to marine regulations. Other boaters will be very confused as to your exact position. Why not just turn off your running lights and throw caution to the winds?

My brothers 72 SW has rear-facing white light embedded flush in transom, and white forward-facing-only light on short collapsible staff attached to windshield. This is by far my favorite setup as zero light floods into the cabin. There is a name for this style which completely escapes me........Pete will know it.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a great forum and I've been lurking since I found it. I did a google search for Lake Mitchell and found a post made by Scott Zuelzke. Anyway, I'm in the process of restoring (resto-mod?) a 1993 open bow Ski Centurion Falcon.

Correct Craft? only if you take into consideration Correct Craft's purchase of a controlling majority of both Centurion and Supreme boats last summer.

My 78 Shamrock has the same setup Jeff. Something is different in the positioning though since I have trouble seeing because of the glare off the starboard side of the light. Might be the helm being closer to the windshield. Anyway next time out,I'm putting on tape. Kermit has the same setup, we'll have to get Tim's take on it.

Jeff,
Sorry, but I can't remember the name for the nav light set up ether!! That "sometimers" syndrome seems to get worse every day!

Jeff,
Here's the set up many including CC used back in the 70's:

The mast head white that was mounted on the top of the windshield was a supplement to the white in transom creating the 360 degree all around. I too loved them but many including myself would rewire the mast head so it could be independently turned off for better night visibility. I feel that's the reason manufacturers stopped using them. The other issue with them on top of the windshields is per the regulation, they were supposed to be 1 meter above the red/green side lights.

I still prefer the lower lumens of my kerosene!

Actually, those nav lights are for my 1915 launch. If I ever get through and finish the house build up here, I'd sure like to get back on it's restoration once all the stuff from the move is cleared out of the shop!

No pics but sounds nice and the right price.

Plus the best part is he delivers. One of you Connecticut boys should hit him up since he is in California. Should not be too far of a drive for him.
