Brian, Here's a direct link to your SN Have you listed it in the CCfan For Sale section? That may be a better option than the Craig's list thread. |

Brian, no worries, good to see it posted on Craigslist too. The reality is it will probably get a lot more views on Craigs then on CCF. I did have a question on your Craigslist listing as I have a buddy who I am trying to talk into buying it. In your craigslist add, I believe you call it a Ski Nautique, but from everything I can tell it is actually a Sport/Air Nautique. He is actually most interested in a Sport/Air and from the pictures I am pretty sure that is what it is but just wanted to confirm with you. Thanks.

Brian,
I realize that may be a dumb question, but is the boat Purple? You stated Purple People Eater, but I can not tell if it is Purple or Blue from the photos. Also, I believe the boat is in Georgia, is that correct? Thanks, Donald |

yes it is a sport/air nautique hull, and the color is purple. some of the piping on the upholstery is almost a baby/light blue. And the boat is now located 20 miles north of Columbus GA / Ft. Benning because we just moved from Ft. Bragg NC

20 miles north of Columbus would put it right in Jackie Deen's backyard, perhaps he'd go take a peek at it. |

Also not too far from Morfoot, maybe 90 minutes or so. I'm closer but clueless on new boats like that, compared to him (and his skills).

I test drove a '99 Sport with 502 Python before I bought my boat. It was very fun, nice rumble at low speed and roar when going faster. You definitely know you have some power available with that engine! Quite a different sound, louder and deeper, than a muffled GT-40.

Jeff, Evidently I'm not as resourceful as others here that were able to find the Mustang on Craig's list. Posting a link on CCfan is pretty easy but does take a couple steps. Use the "post reply" and not the "quick reply". Click on the world icon with the up arrow. The box that comes up is where you type in the description. Clicking OK will bring up the second box where you paste in the address. Much snow yet? How's the ice? |

{URL=http://www.myWeb.com}My Link{/URL} except square brackets instead of curly. Insert your link over myWeb.com, and your label over My Link. Can be done on a smartphone, although like Gary found out last week its a little trickier. |

That write up was mine, the Craig's List ad itself wasn't as dreamy sounding.

I did that, but it didn't seem to resolve the right domain correctly. Oh well, it sounds like people are figuring it out.
We had a lot of snow - probably 12-14 inches. Then the past 3 days it's been 40-ish. Now it's down to 3-4 inches. It's back to 20s and snowing again though. Lakes have about 10-12 inches of ice in most places. I've been meaning to contact you – Bob K. told me you might know where I can find a new (or used) drive shaft for my 1971 CC Mustang? I cut mine in half to remove it because we couldn't get it out.

Jeff, Since your's is cut, your best choice is to install the A.R.E. double taper shaft. It eliminates having to heat shrink the coupling half on the prop shaft plus removal is easy. They are really priced very close to a standard single taper shaft. Used? Well, getting the correct one would require some searching plus, you never know if it straight or not. Total run out should not exceed .003" |

I agree with Pete that the ARE are best, but if your on a budget I probably have one that I would sell for $75 most likely with the flange on it. I can have it checked for straightness and tell you if it is within .003". Send me a pm if interested with the length your looking for.

71 mustang should take a 40" shaft, FYI.
Guaranteed straight for $75, sure can't beat that! Double taper ARE from SkiDIM is the way to go if new... Cheaper than most single tapers from the regular sources. |
