WOW, those are damn near like gold. Don't see many of the stainless. I know on the American Skiers (not CC) they were only special order. Mine had the aluminum.

Someone grab those!

Somebody will buy it and throw engines away and hang an outboard on the back. Probably fill it up with SeaDek.

That FN with the Mazda rotary motors was discussed here at length not long ago if I recall. You really have WANT that hull to even consider such a project. And yeah, way easier to hang an OB off the back....

Yeah, if I didn't have the other twin-engine Fish Nautique under restoration currently, I'd keep this one. That other one is taking way longer than expected, but hopefully it'll be out and about this summer.

This one is a little rough, but it is more complete than the other one when I started it. Everything is original and accounted for, except the original engines.

If it doesn't sell, I'll probably get it running (either by rebuilding the rotary engines, or replacing them with something else), and then sell it. I don't need two of these. Someone needs to buy this and save this semi-rare vessel.

"everything" is new BUT, unless I missed it, they don't say anything about the stringers

Volvo marine 502 shortblock, $150. Could be a good rebuilder for a BFN.

It even comes with water already etching away at the cylinder walls :-)

My 351W sat all winter without 2 plugs and had etching (rust) to the point that it had to be bored .060 over

Probably more trouble than its worth being that cheap you would put just as much machine work in it straightening it out. , some things I think are slightly different between 496/502/454 . Then there's the whole rotation issue..Many people actually going LS route in BFN rebuild due to weight savings.

There's a big difference between a thinwall production 351w casting and a 502 block. 0.060 is about the limit on a Windsor. Since the 502 was only released for performance and marine use, they are extra beefy and will clean up all they way to a 4.6" bore. They are also not exactly growing on trees, the block alone is $2500 new. The machine work to bore and hone, deck it, clean up the crank and resize the rods, plus a set of pistons and rings should be a lot less than that.

I realize the title says "502" as well as "8.1", but from the looks of the picture it appears to be a GEN VI BBC since it appears to have a distributor hole at the back of the lifter valley. It would be easy to determine by measuring the bore, 4.25" for the 496 and 4.466 for the 502. Few parts are available for the 496, not worth the trouble.

Trying to make it a righty would be another story.

I LOVE the Cypress Gardens plug....

So, during my shopping over the last few months, I called on an '83 American Skier...not one from Orlando, but one from Opa Locka, and the seller made reference to this boat having been the same....

Quote from Ron Tanis: "I don't ever remember selling a boat to Cypress Gardens".

Great entertainment!

Well I guess I can claim ours was a cypress gardens boat since it was used on occasion if they had a motor go south around mid 80s and they were in a pickle, we warehoused it just down the road and dad was on the board .back when they had made cypress wood lifetime passes!

Looking at it again, I don't like see a quart of oil under the back seat. Does that mean it is burning oil. Maybe not so much promise. I do like the color and tower.

Wow, 800 bucks. The parts alone would turn a good profit. Geez, what can be seen of the interior, it looks super nice. Complete boat, good glass, sitting on a trailer. Likely would need a stringer and floor job, but geez...

Someone go grab it.
