It needs to match the rotation of your engine.
The impeller is direction-specific. |

Your question is a little confusing - a 1977 302 Auto ? If your talking Correct Craft boats basically no, a automotive pump is a lefty your engine is a righty plus the impeller is steel since it runs in antifreeze. Check ebasicpower they are usually the cheapest on those. It will be bi directional and have stainless and brass components
