I own a 1999 Ski Tique 176 and I'm trying to replace the steering cable, and I need to know how long the steering cable is. Also what kind of steering cable will work best with the '99 Ski Tique 176?

Someone here may know and answer you, but you can also call the group at nautiqueparts.com and they will have an answer and the part.

Probably should clarify your terminology before you call. No Ski Tique in 1999 and no Ski Tique 176. I am guessing you have a 1999 Nautique 176 or 1999 Air Tique (same boat) 176. You will get fewer concerned glances if you are clear as to what you have.

nautiqueparts has one that says most Nautiques after 1998, it's probably that one.
I just did mine yesterday and if you're lucky like me you'll get to take your fuel tank out. From your original post if you have a 1999 you might have ballast (which I did) and the fuel tank in front of that. maybe have a little 1/4in rudder packing on hand because after I finished it was making a racket while turning. Much easier to repack that rudder with the tank already out. and you may already know this but you'll make your life a lot easier by tying some kind of rope or strap to the rudder end of the old one when you pull out through to the helm so you can use that to guide the new one back through. good luck |

Adam. If I am interpreting his naming correctly, he has a 176, not a "full size" Nautique, so I think it is possible, tho I really wouldn't know, that it might take a different cable.

What's a 1999 Nautique 176? Do you mean 1999 Ski Nautique 176? |
