So I've been super busy and dealing with trillions of gallons of water coming from every direction I've got videos of levees blowing out houseboats being destroyed to save a bridge and other stuff as things progress I'll get them loaded up here.

We had one houseboat sink and it knocked 4 or 5 more off their docks and released them into a low bridge. I've been giving TV news interviews on kcra3, Sacramento 31. I gave them a bunch of video too.

Seems like we were just talking about the historic draught with record low levels of snow pack, water restrictions, etc... Only in CA. Stay safe!

I've got high ground to run to if I have to but so far I'm riding the storms out on top of a levee. Oroville and it's problems have 200,000 people evacuated. Certainly touch and go last night as the try to deal with the monster they created.

Be safe Andy. I am sure many CCFAN's have ample lodging away from the area if needed.

Ah - you are in the path. I thought maybe you were involved professionally somehow, with the documentation you referenced. Stay safe.

So with 30-40 feet of melt coming soon, is this Lake Oroville Dam thing just getting started?

we have 6 weeks of rainy season left and Shasta is spilling and near capacity too...it's not over...Oroville looks like its calming down but a lot of erosion occurred so they are running the broken spillway at about 100,000 cubic feet per second in an attempt to lower level by 50 feet before the next storms come in a few days...we've been slammed by "pineapple express" big juicy storms warm and wet from Hawaii...it is also referred to as an atmospheric river. the area above Oroville is a 4000 square mile catchment...watershed...that's right 4000 square miles draining into it with 15 plus inches rain falling in a week...and then again...and again...

if some of it had not fallen as snow we would all be in the pacific ocean right now.
the Sierra acts as a water bank...unless it melts too fast gets rained on...doubles runoff...our mountains are higher than all mountains in Colorado.

Thanks for the updates. This thing looks precarious to me. 700 feet of water scares the hell out of me.

Like others have said stay safe. Back in 94 we had 12 inches of rain in 24 hours and it took over a month go get the water back on in town. Pray all goes well.

So now totally unrelated to Oroville we have a levee ready to break at Tyler Island so a bunch of businesses and farms are loading everything up and evacuating so we hauled a few big trailers some boats over to what might be a high spot with a fleet of diesels at a trucking company... I'm going to Walmart 😄 stock up on groceries and watch what happens.

Wow I'd be surprised if Walmart had anything left if you folks are like most. Wish I was closer and could lend a hand. Sounds like a good time to move above the flood line.
