This is the boat I picked up last week. Got a good deal on it but have to sell this or our
82 SN. Wife says only get to keep 1 of them. 192 hours on new engine. I haven't even driven it yet. Will this boat take rougher water better than the SN? Engines are the same, prop the same. Trans on this is 1.23.1 and SN is 1-1. I'm assuming this boat will be quicker at wot and the other has more low end torque?

I like the looks of the SN a lot more than the Martinique. And has a swim platform. That is huge for my little girls. But the Martinique is all original with low hours. Decisions decisions.

Mq is a neat boat. Same hull as the 2gen SN (1970-1981). Won't ski or ride as well as the later 2001, but will be lighter and faster with equal power. Show us a few pics of the engine and trans. Sounds like a repower if it truly has the 1.23... That didn't come out until 1989.

The 2001 is going to be a much more versatile boat.

Keep the SN. It'll perform way better than the MQ. Both boats are sharp and clean but the SN is sharper and classic. Keep both and sell that Sea Ray.

I'd keep the SN as well. The Martinique is beautiful, but I wouldn't like losing the platform, especially if the kids really enjoy hanging out on it.

Finding an original Martinique is nice.My 76' does not have the original upholstery but is tastefully done. I agree that the SN would be the better choice. If you decide to let go of the Martinique, let me know.

In the process of rebuilding the SN trailer. New paint, carpet, wiring, led lights, bearings, tires, guide post covers. I'm not a huge fan of that blue trailer either. If that boat ends up staying here it will at least be repainted.

Update -

     Well, they kept the 1982 Ski Nautique, probably a better choice for family needs.

We bought the 1974 Martinique from them, definately a better choice for our needs.

The pictures honestly don't do justice to the condition of this boat, it is amazing.

The hideous (and flimsy) blue trailer is gone, replaced by a galvanized trailer.

This trailer should look better once it's painted white to match the boat.
