Does anyone know the diffences on the harmonic balancer for a 454. Mine was sitting in water and is super rough. Looked into buying a new one. Mine has one hole in the outer ring. I have seen several for sale- some have no holes, some have two, some have three or more. Anyways was looking for some direction on what the diffences is. I am wondering if those holes are hiles are to balance it. Each one made needs differ holes to accomplish this.

Rod,
It's a common practice to drill holes in a rotating cylindrical object for balance. |

Pete
So basically the number of holes drilled in each individual balancer are specific to make that individual balancer balanced? So if I but one for a 454 it shouldn't matter if it has one hole or four holes? They are all the same part number- so that's why I was wondering. Thanks |

Rod, Yes, it's just like balancing a tire except instead of adding weight, they remove weight. |
