Hi All,
Had another great family day on Loch Lomond (Scotland) on my old 1980 ski Nautique today. I'm a total newbie at wakeboarding at if I'm honest totally crap too lol but trying hard. I've got a 3 blade prop on the boat just now, stamped on it is: FEDERAL SUPERCUP 13RH13 10 90 Is this the correct pitch etc for the boat? Noticed today at 31mph I'm showing 4000rpm. That's saying the gauges are reading correctly tho. Would a prop change the revs, mpg, or even the wake? Thanks in advance Graeme |

I think your tach is off. 13x13 federal is the factory prop for your boat. Good props for old school technology. Changing props will change rpm's and performance but I would only recommend chasing to an Acme 540 13x12 if anything. Change in wake will be so super minimal (flatter).

You need to check your speed with a hand held GPS. You can download one to a smart phone. I have one called Speedometer GPS. I have it on my Apple I-Phone.

I have a similar boat. 78 SN. I have an original 13 x 13 rh on mine. I get almost exactly 30 mph at 3000 rpm. I don't go over the 10 mph per 1000 rpm scale till over about 40 then it takes a few extra revs to go full speed.
My prop is cupped, and was repaired so it may be a bit more efficient than original.. |

Cheers,
I've now downloaded a speed app for my phone so I'll double check the speed the next time I'm out. I'll maybe get the prop checked out by somebody that knows what their looking at too, all 3 blades could be bent for all I'd know. Cheers again Graeme |

540 is your sweet spot. There are cheaper places than me but if you have issues importing it I ship DHL quite frequently.

Thanks phatsat67
I'll be in touch if I cant find a UK supplier. I grudge paying the "import tax" on top of the prop costs. |

Hello mate, hows tricks? I picked mine up from a guy on here that was having a clear out in his shop. The only other person I know of from the UK with a 540 is MattB, but he also had his imported from the US. I think it was from deep blue yacht supply..

Everything's good mate. Hows the boat coming along?
Importing looks like its going to be my only option. Unless I can find a shop who'll charge me £30 for the prop & £300 for shipping then i'll not need to pay the dreaded Import tax lol |
