If your thinking 454-502 stay with a gen6 502 500hp.We raced in offshore in 2001 to 2004 with a 27 magnum single what has about the same hull as your formula. We found the most reliable eng.was the 502-500 and got us a solid 73mph GPS.When we started to play with the 540s we got 92, but that was to fast and they were always broke. Ok, so I'm not going nuts, you just bought it. I feel better!
Will do, though I can't say I've seen many engine/Bravo combos for sale without a boat attached. I don't think anyone minds at all talking about your Formula! If you bring it up to the lakes drop me a note, I'd try to meet up and take a look at it. |

I wonder if you could swap out the 454/Bravo for your 350/Alpha and turn around and sell this boat for $6,000 or so, not sure how many buyers would care it had less power, still would be a 48-50 mph boat.

Geez, I would have expected something over 40 out of that boat/motor. I agree getting it propped to turn 600 more rpm will do quite a bit for you.
