Brother Ben and I we're re-routed today so instead of flying through Chicago Beers Land we drove over to Chicago Rapids (Cedar Rapids, IA) to see Waldo and his 76 Ski Tique. We met his wife, son Sammy and his dog clan including Cha-weeny dog briefly too.

I think his wife was surprised to see his "internet buddies" we're somewhat normal and someone else thinks his boat is actually cool too! Once we hit high noon at 12:01pm we decided it was time for a beer while we looked over the Tique. At 1k, it's a helluva ride and will treat him just rite with a little TLC in the Mars Boys Boat Shop this spring. Looking forward to dialing in his boat and getting his family to a CCF event this summer. Sammy is itching to hear those copper pipes rumble again!

Thank for the Beers, Waldo. Good to actually meet you after talking on the phone and texting back and forth for the better
Part of 4 years!

Too funny I open this post and I see myself chugging a beer. Nice to meet you guys. I finally have confidence that this boat will see the water someday.

This is true. Made it a few blocks and decided to swap out running gear.

Got the boat back to Dexter, Iowa for Waldo as we're storing it this winter. Plan is to have it ready for him and his kids before spring.

I don't know about BBC west, but the barn at our family farm is looking like a mini Maiden more every week.
