I am new to the forum, have been an owner of an i/o for several years now. I am currently looking at upgrading to a 1997 ski nautique closed bow with the GT-40 engine approx 625 hours on it. The interior is in pretty good condition, will need to have the observers seat and drivers seat part you actually sit on reskinned. Boat has perfect pass and hot/cold shower. The exterior is rough with moderate oxidation to the gelcoat. No cracking or major dings that I can see. Platform is faded from sitting in the sun. Trailer needs new wood but is road worthy. Boat has a fairly new custom cover. I believe I can get this boat for $11,000 or under.   Any thoughts from the forum. Should I keep looking or is the price fair??   Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums. Sounds to be a good price to me. If you look at the For Sale listings for 1997 SN on this site, you will find 6 listings, and all but one are listed for more than that. For sale listings

Interior replacement can be expensive, but look at Nautiqueskins.com or eBay and you may find them pop up every once in a while.

You can bring the exterior back to its original shine. Platform is to be expected.

Make sure you start the boat before you buy it and if you can go for a water test in it, that would be better.

If you have a listing or pics, let us see some. Good luck!

Jon,
Pictures would help inside, outside, motor. You can tell a lot of how they maintained it by the condition of the motor and the bilge area.
Where in Pa are you.

Well, I pulled the trigger and purchased the boat yesterday. Marina is replacing the steering cable, changing fluids and diagnosing a believed to be minor temp issue. During lake test we noticed the temp gauge was not moving.   Needle was sitting at 140 deg with no changes. They were not sure if it was a frozen gauge, thermostat or sending unit.. Once all this work is done I will finally have my always wanted "Nautique" and be out on Conneaut Lake every chance we get...Will get some pics loaded when I can...
