Mark,
Since you had to drill out the old ones, chances are good that the tapped hole in the strut got nicked with the drill. Take a good look and if needed, drill and tap new holes in a different location.

I've always used 1/4-28's.

Hey Guys
I may have to drill mine out as well. Any tricks to getting these things out? I cant get a hex wrench to bite in one, and the other seems pretty corroded. I sprayed them down with PB blaster for a few hours while the bearings are in the freezer.
