Ya a little too much alcohol caused me to forget about a couple key things while at brother reids. The rubrail being one and the gauges sitting in the cabinet that would match my boat so well were both left in NC due to moonshineitus!

I might have to talk to reid about his source.

It was my idea to put the 383 in the Skier in the first place and put that H-M in his Stang, so you relax!

Who ended up with my 540, btw?

How come no stainless Joe? My new rail even looks at a dock and it's scratched. Never noticed it on the old rail

HW, your pipe made the move from the farm to my lake house so come grab it this weekend and we'll get a little skiing in...hot tub is less than 20 yards from the dock.

That 540 was pulled at Quinners with the intention of it getting fixed, although I think you knew that. Probably riding in the trunk of the caddy!

It's in spring grove at fox lake prop. They called last week, so that means its probably done. A 383 in either boat sounds like an ATF waiting to happen.

Cool, maybe I'll have a boat to use it on next year.

No ATF worries here... if Eric builds motors as good as he troubleshoots them, then that 383 will probably be slower than the H-M 302!

So it's going to be an LS style stroker motor? Those manifolds definatly are not for anything but an LS style engine. Good Score for free!

TIM- WHOS YOU'RE BUDDY THAT WANTS LS STYLE EXT MANIFOLDS!!!

Maybe Tim will now get his wish and ill have something other than indmar manifolds on there

Haha, thats what I get for taking your word on those exhaust manifolds (cant see pictures on here)... my understanding was that ETX = 350 manifolds. I only know one guy with an LS and its a Cat motor.

One more reason to go with a sleeper Waukesha!

Regular 350 heads will look like this 0---00---0 LS = 0--0--0--0

In PCM world the first LS appearence was in the ZR6 engines. 330 EX was still a Standard Vortec style engine. 343 is still Vortec style. So PCM had non Cat LS engines.

...Continued....
Most people know this boat as ‘Ole Raunchy’- a name that was assigned to the boat by one of its many previous owners and very fitting considering the condition at the time.
Ole Raunchy entered the CCFan family about 5 years ago- read all about that story here
Eric's Diary Entry

We are honored to be the new owner of this cool little Correct Craft.
It has already undergone a few updates in the short period of time we’ve had it- Thanks in large part to many friends and fans help. Here's a quick highlight list:
- Finished removing black stripe
- Removed rubrail
- Patched transom holes
- Removed carpet
- Wet Sanded/ Buffed gelcoat
- Painted new white tapered boot stripe
- Installed new period correct rub rail
- Installed new period correct emblems (Thanks Stan C!)
- Replaced exhaust hoses
- Installed new vinyl floor (Nautilex Shark)
- Repaired fiberglass seat buckets
- Completely restored trailer

It’s not so Raunchy anymore but will always be known by that name.
We’ve taken the boat to 2 CCFan events already this fall and have really enjoyed it. Love the orange color and that HM sound!

Here's a little video of a dock fly by:

Scott (Nothcoastidol) and I took a bunch of tandem BF runs behind it at Badin a couple weeks ago. Greg caught one run on video:

Wow!!! Great sound, even better acceleration. I've got to think this is like a sports car compared to the Cuda you used to have. Was the double barefoot run at close to WOT?

So is a '72 Skier a 16 1/2 ft. boat? Same hull as a Mustang of that year?

That boat is awesome! I've had the privilege of getting to run the new and improved Ole Raunchy and Brad did an awsome job of bringing her around!
That Holman-Moody pulls strong and sound great! Might be a few more tweaks left but that's for another thread!
Thanks Brad ! Looking forward to driving and skiing that boat again soon!

Yes the Skier is the same hull as a mustang. I'm guessing that it's a lot easier to work in a skier then it is in a Mustang. Going under the dash just makes me feel claustrophobic. To much in that small boat.

I don't think the skier and mustang have the same hull... similar. I think the Tique inherited the skiers hull, but not sure about where the skier got its hull from.
