Hi There. I guess I could use some gel coat work on the front bottom sides of the hull. Some unsightly scratches that would look so much better shiny and nice. Any ideas on how to shine the ones out that are not deep at home? Plus will any Marine, Boat Dealer do this for a reasonable cost?
Also the blue line (1/2" Pinstripe) around the boat needs replacement. Can this be done at home or again to a professional for this?

Matt,
If the scratches are real shallow, they can be wet sanded out and then the area buffed. Do some searching for threads on wet sanding. Many have done this themselves.

If they are deep and need to be filled, gel repair kits are available. The trick is getting the tinting to match the original. This too has been done by many with decent results.

A pro job can get expensive! It all depends on how much work is needed. Get some quotes in your area.
