can anyone give me the necessary sizes/measurements for a 1991 Ski Nautique trailer wheel? its a 16" dia wheel, 6 stud.

I'm guessing it's a 16"x7" w/ 6 lugs on a 5.5" circle.
You can find these online thru many retailers. Tires are probably ST235/80R16...Load range D or higher. |

Are you sure its a 16" wheel? Original CC/Ramlin would have been 15". Tire size would have been 225/75/15. CBass is right about the lug pattern 6x5.5".

'85 should have been the last year for the 5-lug hardware (3500lb axle), which would take 14" wheels, 5x4.5" pattern. Either of the 2 common 14" sizes will fit under the fender but I'd go with the larger of the 2 (215/75/14) as it will have a slightly higher load capacity. Go with the highest load rating you can find, preferably a D... The more you can exceed the combined 3500lb axle rating, the better. I have posted the link to original style chrome wagon wheels before, they are still available if you look.
I would recommend verifying that you do in fact have a '85 trailer and that it does have 5-lugs though. I can't say I've seen a 6-lug '85 but they did make the change to 6x5.5" 15" wheels (and 5200lb axles) in '86... Who knows if a few went out the door a little early. |

My 85 has a 6-lug. I would measure for you but it is hibernation over an hour and a half away. I know that is not very helpful, but I fall into the 85 but with a 6-lug that TRBenj is talking about.

Thank you and my trailer and boat are in storage over 4 hours away. I will look at some pictures of my trailer if i can see how many lugs are on it. I just want to start looking at some new wheels and tires since they are original to the trailer and the tires are very snug and close to the fenders, I dont want to get something too big and bottom out my fenders since I am also having the entire trailer repainted. ANd TRB where can I find your link.

There are no common trailer tire sizes that should come anywhere near the fenders. 205/75/14, 215/75/14 and 225/75/15 are all fine from a fitment perspective. If you're tight on vertical clearance you may have tired springs... I'd actually recommend replacing them when restoring the trailer based on their age alone. They don't always give any signs they're about to fail (I've broken 2, not fun).
It may have been shadow wheels that had the chrome wagons. Try a google search, I'll repost if I come across them again. Post some pics of your trailer if you have them, there are a few of us that would be interested in seeing a 6-lug '85. That goes for you too, rebel. |

OK so here is my wheel i found in some old photos. The tire brand looks like it says titan but I cannot make out any wheel tire size looks like the last number is a "15" but the grass is covering the other numbers but it seems I have a 6 lug wheel.

OK so again based on further zoomed in of the picture, The tire has written on it that I can make out "Titan ST 225 175D15" Now I am not sure is that is a "1" or a "/" before the 75 TRB you in your previous post used "/" so it could be very well 225 /175D15" with a 6 lug wheel.. DO any of you think this is correct?

Tim's got you covered. When I was figuring out the tire size for my 1984 SN2001 trailer, I looked at the CCFan Reference section 1987 Owners Manual. Page 58 lists the tire info. For my single axle, it was an H78 x 15" with 2,330 lb capacity per tire. Cross reference that to today and you'll see it's a 225/75/15 just like Tim said. Then you pick radial or bias ply and then pick the appropriate load range, for example, load range C: 2,150 lbs at 50 psi, load range D: 2,540 lbs at 65 psi. I think once you have the right tire size, the most important thing is checking the inflation pressure often. I suppose I'd better get those new tires for my trailer pretty soon...
