Previous owner, Walt Bender, Tomah, WI, bought the boat in 1972 from a friend to "take it off his hands" and after taking the boat to restorers in three states, decided he would do the work himself, along with the help of several friends. Restoration/remodel and motor rebuilding, including conversion to 12volt system, began in 1994, completed in 1999 as the "Ginny Bee" as registered with ACBS. Windshield was not original, but Walt did a beautiful job befitting the Craft. One note of mention which Walt always adds to a conversation is the removal of the 6,000 screws, cleaning, and cutting wood filler plugs during the restoration!

Recent work accomplished in 2013: scraping, sanding, recaulking bottom, then recoating with copper-based underwater paint. Wet-sanding side planks and deck boards fore and aft, then recoat with gloss spar urethane - two applications.

Motor has approx 35hrs of running time; original block (no. SM617061 tag in motor house) was cracked, new block (no. SM733533) was acquired and all internal parts from original block were reused in new block.

Trailer is like new 1997 Yacht Club 5000lb capacity tandem axle with hydraulic brakes and Dico actuator, brake flush kit, bearing protectors, spare tire with cover and carrier, hinged tongue with 1000lb er wheel.

Boat has been to one rally in Fon du Lac, WI, but all other time was on Lake Tomah, WI...until now! Ill be keeping the boat in Green Lake, WI.

Im looking forward to meeting rally members at the annual Correct Craft event in Green Lake, as well as rallies for classic wood crafts in L. Minnetonka, MN, Minocqua, Madison, and L. Geneva, WI.

One of Walts friend and helper throughout the renovation/remodel was there to say goodbye the day I took the CC out for the trip to Green Lake. Now that Walt has more open space in his shop, hes thinking hell start on the 1958 Century Bullnose which has been waiting patiently under wraps out back - afterall, he has the motor already rebuilt. Hes pretty ambitious for 82yrs young and a master with tools.
