We upgraded from a 1965 Barracuda to this 1986 Ski Nautique in the spring of ’05. The boat was listed for sale on this site by the original owner in CT with only 188 hours on it. We were originally looking for an early 80’s Nautique with very low hours on it, but could not pass up this beauty. The boat is completely original, except for some cleats that were added to the bow and stern. They are nice for tying up the boat at the dock, but get in the way of the ski rope.I keep threatening to replace them with pop up style cleats. Bought a nice sunbrella custom fit cover immediately after buying the boat. Recently got a flitepipe extended pylon (thanks Roy). Recently had the trailer re-painted. My wife and I use the boat daily in the summer months, mainly for slalom skiing, wakeboarding, slow cruises around the lake and swimming. Took the boat to the first annual New England reunion where it was reunited with 2 other 1986 Nautiques. Had a great time hanging out with fellow New England CCFans and already looking forward to the next one. Love this boat and hope to own it for many more good years to come.My children will likely learn to ski on this boat (first one on the way). This is a great site- -Brad
