As a kid my father had this boat. It was a Correct Craft Classic. That was a Jet version. I remember riding in it once when I was very young remember going very fast in the waves seemed huge the sky was blue and it was a warm day.
Well my father and his ultimate wisdom left the boat in the water over the winter because he didn't have a trailer so guess what happened in the spring time - it sank. I remember seeing fish in the bottom of the boat swimming around as they were trying to pull it out of the water with the big toe strap.
Well time went on and I remember he had the boat on a trailer, And I remember him working on it that summer my father and his wife rebuilt the interior got it running made it look really nice.
Then again in his ultimate wisdom he left it outside in the backyard for years never to be used again. I remember growing up playing games acting like I was driving it had a great time but all this time it was sitting outside, there was no cover on it they just left it there in the elements. Thinking about it now makes me cringe.
I was only allowed to go over to my fathers every other weekend. One weekend when I was young I went over to my dad's house remember I got on the boat, and noticed somebody had stolen all the gauges.
That was the beginning of the end. My father never did anything about it it just sat there. More and more things happened. Seats got ripped, the right side of the windshield got a rock through it by me. And all the wood on the inside just basically rotted out.
When I got older I really wanted to fix it up. I got dad interested in it again for like three weeks. Then a little while later I ended up having to leave for a few months but this time I was about 16 when I came back and my stepmother made my dad sell it. It was gone. I thought it was going to come to me. But it didn't. I never thought I would find another one because it was so old.
But lo and behold I found this one. So I fully intend to give this one all the love I should've given that old one.
