I purchased my 1993 SN from another CCFan member. The only problem was that the boat was totaled due to hitting a rock jetty at speed. Other than the hull damage, the boat was obviously well cared for and in generally good condition. Not really looking to replace my ’77 Martinique, I purchased the boat thinking I can fix that! Well, I bit off more than I planned and 10 months later, the boat was completed and back in the water.
While trailering the boat to the lake for the first time, I had someone ask what year was the boat. I told them and they said it looked brand new. I of course, was proud, but more importantly, I met the goal I set for myself and that was that the boat looked almost as good as before the accident. If you look close, you can see the gelcoat blend lines, but you have to look REALLY close.
The family loves the extra space, the quieter exhaust note, and smoother ride over the ’77 Martinique. But, I love the handling, power and storage space. As an aside, the engine is from a 1995 SN (PO swapped engines after accident) and is throttle body fuel injected with about 430 hours (current). She’s for sale now as I upgraded to a larger 1999 Super Sport outfitted as a SAN.
