I just looked at a 1965 17 CC sportsman that I am interested in buying. There is not a lot of info out there on a sportsman. Does anyone out there know anything about the sportsman? The boat has been sitting for the last 30 years in a boathouse and is completely original. It is covered in dust and spider webs. It has a 220HP graymarine (V8CE-2200). The stringers are in great shape as is the floor. The gel coat has a lot of cracks and is pulling up slightly in places. The owner is asking $5500, which seems like a lot for this boat. Any idea what I should offer him? As you can imagine since he has been storing it for 30 years he not in any hurry to sell.

I would greatly appreciate any insight you may have to offer. I am new to the world of CC’s and I’m looking forward to being an owner.

Thanks,

Chris
