I tried to search this issue with no luck. My 1989 Nautique prop spins when running on the trailer. It's enough to hear the cultless squeaking. I think even in the water I notice movement. Is there some sort of adjustment to
correct?

No adjustment! Your trans clutch plates are warped causing the dirty neutral. Most likely the trans slipped and over heated at one time. Sorry but you need a rebuild.

Or just live with it like I do. Splash some water on the strut bushing before you start it & it won't squeal.

Yup, exactly what I do

Mine had done this on the trailer for years. Stops after a few minutes of warm up for me. I always hose the cutless before I hook up the hose to run it at home.
