Does the drain plug in the battery box drain back into the bottom of the boat or does it go elsewhere? I have a 84 SN (1st boat) I cleaned out the boat and noticed the battery box wont drain very well. I tried to force water into the drain hole with no luck. Now im worried it might go somewhere else. The boat had a lot of loose crap in it. should I keep trying to force water through it or am I making a mistake?

I've got a 78 and the drain hole does drain to the main bilge. The drain hole in mine is about an inch above the bottom of the battery box and doesn't have a plug. I get bilge water sloshing back to my battery box.

I'll fix that soon though...

If you're going to do it...
Do it in a boat
