A few weeks back I posted a question in this group about a Correct Craft boat that my wife found out about. I was traveling, and over about 10 days, I got at least 20 to 30 comments with your help on my questions. I was an avid skiier in the sixties and seventies, but went the next 30+ years bay fishing. Now I have young boys who want to ski, and I started looking for a Correct Craft.
For those of you who responded, I didn't know the year or model, and I only had 2 photos. The owner was my son's football coach who was going thru a divorce, and had to sell the boat. It turns out it was a '99 Air Nautique with every possible bell and whistle plus a $6k sterio system. Plus, it only had 35 hours on it!!! The coach, who volunteers at my sons private Christian school as the head football coach, sold it to my wife and I for only $25k. That included the boat, the wakeboard rack, a custom cover, bimini top, a great tandum trailer, etc. He gave it to us a couple of weeks ago to take it out for a test drive and said the Houston dealer offered him more than the $25 he asked us for it, but he wanted it go to someone who he knew that would have fun using it. Anyway, thanks to all who helped me. I drove the boat and I've never been so amazed. It drives a line like nothing I've ever seen, and I'm not used to a boat that holds an exact speed. My wife and boys both skiied and we never took it back to the coach. Thanks again. I think we got a great deal and I happy to be a Nautique owner. Walt Powell |

Welcome to the Nautique club Walt. I'm sure you're going to have many great years with that boat. You have a couple of VERY lucky sons. Get some pics up in the diaries section soon!

Thats awesome! I just got a 99 air this year also,. I thought I was lucky finding one with 82 hrs, 35 hrs is unheard of. Average is about 500 for a 99. I'd replace the impeller, even with that many low hrs, theres a good chance it dried out and could be a problem, mine was....

Walt, congratulations and welcome. Like you, I have two sons and a wife who love to ski. We spend MANY hours together in that boat.
By the way, I do not post much here because I don't have as much knowledge as these guys, but never miss a day checking it out, it is a great resource for us newcomers.. |
