Hi all,

What do the Two (2) "horns" that come out of the top of the carb do, they look like "J's" they face down into the openings of the carb and is it alright to run without them. The reason I ask is one of mine broke off...

They are "J" tubes. They direct the fuel back into the carb when floats or needles seat, etc, stick causeing the fuel to rise above the fuel level. This safety feature keeps the fuel from leaking in the bilge.

IMHO, The J-tubes are a VERY VERY important safety feature. Do NOT run without them. Flooding is common on boats (especially if they are not run regularly) and the J-tubes will prevent you from blowing up your boat when it floods. Replacements are available from SkiDIM and other dealers. If it has become loose, you might be able to repair it with JB Weld.
