    Posted: August-07-2005 at 3:48am
Just put new gauges in over the winter, and I am trying to calibrate my tachometer (teloflex). Does anyone know what pulse setting to set it to. I have it on 8 now, and it seems to be reading alot higher than it should. My engine is a Waukesha (PCM) 302, with a mallory coil and distributor, also I put the electronic ignition on it, if that has anything to do with it?!

Thanks for the help!

Do you have it wired to the groud side of the coil ? A little wiring story (where things are hooked)would help.

It is wired up exactly the way it came off. All I'm trying to do is fiqure out where to set the pulse dial on the back of the tachometer. It was set at 3 when I got it, and that was to low. At full speed, it was reading about 3500. I turned up to 8, now it is saying about 5000 at full speed. Probably need to get a digital tach to set it to. Thanks for the reply!

If you have a new style timing light they have an accurate tach reading on them.
