After looking at jzarski's thread about restoring his 23' Fish Nautique, I though I would post a few images of mine. I finished this about 3 years ago. It is a 1989.

Awesome! Looks very clean!
Can you tell us about the process? New floors? Stringers? Before/after pics? Always enjoy seeing a finished product |

Floors and Stringers were all good. Had to replace forward and aft engine compartment bulkheads. This is the only before image I could find.

Very cool, what did those Fish Nautiques do performance wise? Motors push them pretty well? They look fairly big...but I guess no bigger than a 223 super air no? lol

I have always had a soft spot for those Fish Nautiques, that one is a beauty! I have never seen one up here on Lake Michigan, I wonder if there are any up here running. I always thought they would be a good Lake Fishing boat.

You have just made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to chat with you Gary about a few things. Did you modify that console or did you buy that? I love the look of it. Man, I just decided I am putting my A## in high gear on my boat. Thank you for sharing these pictures.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Funny you should say that. This boat was originally owned by a guy in Wisconsin and fished Lake Michigan for about 10 years. He sold it to a guy here on the Chesapeake Bay and I purchased it from him 4 years ago. |

Very nice restoration. From the pictures it looks like the fuel tank is not on deck at the transom. Where is the fuel tank located?

There is an 80 gal. tank aft under the cockpit. I not sure what year they made the change.

Don,
It is a PleasureCraft Marine ZR6. Basically a 6.0L Chevy. Mine is a few years old and was rated 385HP. I believe the new version is up to 409HP. |

The AwlGrip looks great! How many gallons did you use?
You guy's are getting me charged up on getting mine done. Stringers come out after the first of the year and new ones installed. Will post some pictures soon. |

Mine was all there so I just drilled out the rivets and removed it all before the boat was painted. I cleaned up so I did not have to replace any of it.

FI Inboards,
Sorry, I missed you post. I did not paint the boat. I did all the rest of the restoration but I decided to have a local boat yard do the paint work so I really don't know how much paint is needed. |

Fl Inboards, I just purchased the paint for mine. I got 3 gallons of white for the inside and bottom of the boat. I also got 2 gallons of the color for the sides. I used numbers from the last boat I painted. I should have left over but I rather be safe. I hate running out of paint in the middle of a job.
