Does anyone have any maintenance tips for steering cables. Over time, the steering on inboards get stiff. I have tried cleaning the cable shaft that connects to the rudder and storing the boat with the shaft retracted and extended. DIM suggests turning the steering wheel from side to side once a month while in storage. Is there a better way?

It looks like a fitting that lubricates the shaft. Good idea. Thanks. When are you going to post your '60?
