I'm actually the one selling the boat, and your right if I wasnt a college student in the middle of taking finals and trying to get numerous things done in order to go pick up our new boat on thursday I would have. However, I do more and more to clean it every day when I get the time. If I had 20 hours in a warehouse to knock everything I have done to it in the past week that'd be great...

What do you think? Eithert there is something really wrong with this thing or maybe a scam?

If not, someone is going to get a hell of a deal.

Same boat probably posted in Minneapolis. Probably a scam.

Same exact add showed up in Boston:

So, that certainly raises my suspicions. Not a whole lot of info either.

and if you want to find the real listing and price of that one...it's only 10K more than those fake ads you find on craigslist.

That's a pretty rare original interior. Doesn't that colored hull M17 by Reid have that kind too?

Rare original interior, not rare original boat. I agree- Im not a huge fan of the M17 in general, but the big button interior with the swivel buckets is pretty cool. Reid did have that dark blue hulled one for a very short time, sold it to a friend. Gorgeous original boat- got to check it out in person in Oct.

So, I used a fake email address and actually replied to this ad.

92 Sport

Here is the reply I got a few days later.

Hello there,

My name is Tanya, and I'm emailing you about the Correct Craft Sport I have for sale. The boat is in perfect condition, with no need for any additional repairs. Excellent condition, no dents and no mechanical problems. It has never been in salt water. Only 162 hrs and will come with trailer and all the extras included. I legally own a clear title, free of any liens or loans, under my name. The price was reduced at $2,900. Because of my divorce settlement, i own this boat and as a woman i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible (this is the reason for the cheap price).
If you have any other questions, or need more info, just drop me an email and I'll get back to you.

Thank you for your interest,
Tanya

Sounds like the same response a buddy of mine got a couple weeks ago on a real nice 57 T Bird that was for sale cheap in Atlanta.

DavidG sent an email asking where it could be seen, he did not get a response.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

"Excellent condition, no dents and no mechanical problems"

Good to know there aren't any dents in the gelcoat. That would be an expensive repair. LOL!! Total scam. I got a very similar response to an add 2 or 3 yrs ago. I know that adds can be flagged for removal. Can you report them to craigslist for flagging?

I emailed the actual seller, just to let them know the craiglist ads are out there. I got a response that there is not much they can do about it and thanked me for letting them know. Real ad for the boat, they want 12,900 for it.

Guys,

Thanks for the kind words. This is my baby and I hate to sell her, but I am looking to move up to a bigger boat. My kids are at the age that they want to bring friends and we just need more room for the family of four and 90 lb chocolate lab.

I am looking to get into a 99-2005, Sport Nautique, Air Nautique or my dream boat is a 216. I do want DD and not Vee drive. The floor in the back is 1" Dove Tail Teak Wood. Not finished but Oiled. It is teak planks.

Thanks again,

Donald
