If anyone has a Holley 4160 450 CFM carb available, I'm looking for one for our 302 Commander. Thanks

By now you've probably figured out that those are hard to find. Holley sells refurbished ones on ebay, last year I passed one up for around 300 thinking they would have more. They just had another but it it had gone up 78.00. Bought it anyway it looks brand new. Maybe you could contact them and see if they have any more ebay link

David -- You're looking for a Holley R7159. Do you have one that you want to rebuild? 703-33 is the holley marine renew kit for that. I do know that you can put a larger CFM carb on it. What's on it now?

There are many different LIST numbers associated with 450cfm marine Holley's. It is not recommended to put a 600cfm on a stock 302. |

David,
Curious as to why you want to swap out the Edlebrock. I dont recall reading anywhere that you were not happy with the boat's performance. I ask the question because I have been pretty happy with my Edelbrock for the past 13 years. I find it less fussy than a Holley, which I had previously. I should start being up at Gregs fairly periodically now. Hope to see the new Tique soon. Plus it's time for you to resume your barefooting training. |

David, I have the stock holley carb that came off of my 78 ski tique. it has the 302 commander motor also. Last year I thought I was having carb problems, so I replaced it with a 600 quick fuel marine carb, turned out to be a fuel pump problem, so I think my stock holley carb is ok. The 600 quick fuel carb ran great after I installed the new fuel pump, by the tach the boat picked up about 200 rpms, but it dripped fuel when you shut it off, I did not want to adjust the float levels to compensate for the angle of the engine so I installed a 12 degree wedge plate under the carb to level it up. it runs great on the trailer and no more drip, let the motor get up to temp, shut it down for 5 min. it fires right up. If it runs as good on the water as it does on the trailer I am going to keep the 600 quick fuel carb on the boat. If you want to give the stock holley a try give me a call. my name is Jerry, phone number 336-339-3428, I think I remember meeting you at the correct craft mini a couple of years ago, I had the red ski tique. I live at Badin Lake now, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out
